About Stade de France

Situated on the municipality of Saint-Denis, in the Seine Saint-Denis, near Paris, the Stade de France was inaugurated on January 28th, 1998 by Jacques Chirac - inauguration followed by a friendly game of France against Espagne of football. Five months later, the stage welcomed the first matches of the Soccer World Cup which the French team will take away on July 12th, 1998 during the ultimate confrontation against Brazil.

He has a track and allows to offer various configurations adapted to the welcomed events: soccer matches or of rugby, athletics meetings, races and shows automobile and motorcycle, concerts, big shows or operas. In configuration concert, he can welcome up to 98 000 spectators by including the pit in mode concert, as for concerts in 2009 and 2010 on the occasion of their tours with closed counters.

Following example the Accor Arena, following the example of the Zenith de Paris or Paris La Défense Arena, Stade de France welcomes the biggest French and international artists on tour through Europe: Coldplay, Muse, U2, Rolling Stones, Mylène Farmer, Céline Dion, Indochina, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Sends Mode, George Michael, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers, AC/DC or Guns' Not Rose.

It is also the place of welcome of big national competitions as the finales of the championships of rugby TOP14, or international as the Rugby World Cup 2007 or the Euro of Football 2016. The tournament of VI Nations makes it stopover every year, and the stage welcomes on this occasion the teams of England, Scotland, Italy, Ireland or Wales. The French team of Football plays it also regularly its friendly matches or competition. Stade de France is a stage for the culture, and one of the first places of this kind to welcome exceptional shows and monumental operas: "requiem of Turned green" in 2002, "Turrando" of Puccini in 2005, "Nabucco" in 2008, "Aïda" de Verdi"in 2001, on 2010 and 2017. E, in September, 2006, Robert Hossein attracts more than 300 000 spectators for the representations of his show "Ben Hur", on an arena in sand of 15 000 m2.

The success of the Stade de France also holds its setting-up near Paris, because it is easily accessible by car, subway, RER. We advise you to favor public transport, particularly because on the day of the event you will have a train every 3 minutes leaving the event.

Coming from Aeroport Charles de Gaulle ?

• RER B (Suburban train) is accessible from the airport then : La Plaine Stade de France station - around 30 mins to get to the RER station close to Stade de France.

Coming from Paris train station (Montparnasse, Austerlitz, Saint-Lazare, Gare du Nord or Gare de l'Est) ?

• RER B (Suburban train) is easily accessible from Châtelet -Les-Halles, Gare du Nord or Saint-Michel Notre Dame then go to : La Plaine Stade de France station - around 30 mins to get to the RER station close to Stade de France.


By RER

When leaving events on the day of the events, you benefit from a train every 3 minutes for the RER B and every 6 minutes for the RER D with last trains until 00:41 and 00:31 respectively, allowing you to take your time.

• RER B: La Plaine Stade de France station - 4 minutes from Gare du Nord and 8 minutes from Châtelet
• RER D: Stade de France - St Denis station - 5 minutes from Gare du Nord and 9 minutes from Châtelet

By car

We strongly advise you to choose public transport, in particular the RER Station La Plaine Stade de France to join the venue.

Car exits close to the Stade de France to access A1 and A86 are easily saturated due to large number of cars trying to exit the venue. A minimum queue of around 1/2 hour is to be expected when this happens.

• A1 motorway (N°2 exit 'Stade de France' ) and A86 motorway (N°9 exit 'Saint Denis - La Plaine Stade de France

Car Park

There is no sale of parking tickets on site on the day of the event; you must purchase your ticket in advance on our site. The car parks are open on the day of the events from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. for evening events and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. for afternoon events.

There are 3 car parks: P1, P2 and P3 to park directly under the Stade de France. Pay attention to the height of vehicles:

• P1 and P3 height limit: 2m10
• P2 height limit: 2m

Below are the free parking lots for MOTORCYCLES:

• Parking P4 (south of the Stadium, rue El Ouafi, opposite P4)
• Esplanade de l'Ecluse (north of Stade de France, at the bottom of the footbridge which leads to metro line 13)
• Rue Henri Delaunay towards Place du Cornillon (behind Decathlon)
