OPERA BASTILLE

L’Opéra Bastille (The Bastille Opera) is situated in the 12th district of Paris on the place of the Bastille. His architect, Carlos Ott inaugurated it in 1989 during the festivities of the bicentenary of the French Revolution. The Bastille Opera and the Garnier Opera constitute what we call the National Opera of Paris. The big room of the Bastille Opera can welcome 2 745 seated spectators, what makes it one of the biggest capacities of the world in front of the " Concert Hall " of the Opera of Sydney and the Theater Bolchoï. It is however less than 3 800 placessquares than the Metropolitan Opera of New York. The Amphitheater as for him can welcome 450 spectators and the Studio 237 places. This building is about 155 000m² and can thus allow 4 000 simultaneous spectators to attend representations. The programming is varied and is regularly renewed. To the program, the operas, of the classical music with "Don Carlos", "Rigoletto", "Falstaff", " A masked ball ", "La Traviata", " Trouvère " of Giuseppe Verdi, " reedy enchanted " and " Clémentine des Titus " with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, but also " Pelléas and Mélisande " of Claude Debussy, or still "Lohengrin" and "Parsifal" de Richard" Wagner. But also operettas with " The Joyful Widow " of Franz Lehar for example. The programming season is available for consultation via a calendar(timetable) all year round. It is also possible to visit the Bastille Opera and to discover the machinery, the wings but also the clothing workshops of suits(costumes) and scenic spaces.
